On Sunday 14th July our dear Abuna Banna will be celebrating the 10.30am Holy Liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Melkite Catholic Cathedral.

Saint Barbara is often portrayed with miniature chains and a tower. As one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, Barbara is a popular saint, perhaps best known as the patron of armourers, artillerymen, military engineers, miners and others who work with explosives because of her legend's association with lightning, and also of mathematicians.

Saint Barbara Feast Day Celebration
Saint Barbara, (died c. 200 ce; feast day December 4), legendary virgin martyr of the early church. Venerated as one of the 14 Auxiliary Saints (Holy Helpers), she is invoked in thunderstorms and is the patron saint of artillerymen and miners. Saint Barbara, holds a special place in the hearts of the Sudanese Syrian Christian Social Community.
Let's join together young and young at heart to celebrate this wonderful feast day.
